Fresh snowfall is reported from the Western and Southern Alps and also the Dolomites and in these locations skiing is on dry powdery snow at all elevations. Further light snowfall will affect most of the Alps in the coming days as progressively colder air arrives from the East.

Cold air is streaming over the Alps from the east now and the forecast indicates temperatures will drop dramatically over the next few days. Skiers should prepare with multiple thermal layers to maximise enjoyment of the excellent snow cover and conditions still on offer in all the premier alpine resorts.

The weather this week is quite settled with plenty of sunny spells expected, plus occasional snow flurries, so really a super situation for skiers.

The forecast for the week ahead looks mostly dry and bright so the situation could not be much better for skiers heading to the Alps this weekend.

There are superb snow conditions in the Alps right now and all the leading resorts have huge snow depths at all elevations. The forecast indicates further falls of powder snow through Saturday, heaviest in the northern Alps and then we enter a spell of clearer weather through Sunday and into next week. So the situation could hardly be better for skiers heading to the Alps.

The French and Swiss Alps have seen further falls of snow but as we head into the weekend the weather across the Alps will be mostly dry and temperatures will drop further. The leading resorts of Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland have superb snow conditions at all elevations with very substantial snow depths ensuring skiing on piste and off is mostly excellent.

Fresh snow is covering the Alps and with already massive snow depths, plus low air temperatures, the skiing conditions are impressive at all elevations in more or less all alpine resorts. The next few days will see plenty of sunny periods and also some further snow fall, so pretty much and ideal situation for skiers in the Alps.

All this week in the Alps the temperatures have remained sub-zero at resort elevation and this means snow conditions remain dry and powdery. There has been fresh snow in recent days, mostly in the southern Alps, and the overhead conditions have been mixed with visibility often poor, however when skies clear the skiing on offer is as good as it has been all winter.

Recent days across the Alps have been dry, mild and sunny but for Thursday a new weather front brings fresh snowfall and lower temperatures to the resorts of Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland. Piste conditions will change considerably with the fresh snow but once the weather settles expect superb skiing conditions to resume.

There are fine conditions for skiers in the Alps currently with the weather settled until Thursday. All the leading resorts hold an abundance of snow and skiing is good at all elevations, though lower slopes are now exposed to temperatures rising a few degrees above zero C through the middle part of the day.

Snow was again falling in the western Alps on Friday but the next 5 days look mostly dry right across the region. With sunshine and milder temperatures expected skiers will finally be able to fully enjoy the astounding snow cover that has accumulated in all the leading resorts.
