The recent very settled sunny weather in the Alps has given way rather cloudy skies now but skiing continues in all the leading late season resorts with still excellent snow depths at all elevations. The best skiing is on the highest alpine pistes and glacier slopes as this is where the snow is most fresh and dry.

Last updated: Fri 10th Apr, 2015 at 15:23

The weekend weather over the Alps looks less settled than it has been and the high resorts where most skiers are now heading to, will have mixed overhead conditions with sleet or snow showers possible. When brighter periods develop though there will be very good skiing on offer as snow depths remain good and most pistes and lifts are still open.

Last updated: Thu 09th Apr, 2015 at 11:47

The fine weather continues in the Alps with excellent snow conditions and snow depths for this late stage of the ski season. Skiers mostly are located in the highest alpine resorts now and here almost all lifts and pistes are still open. High pistes still offer fresh dry snow and skiing conditions could not be much better.

Really enjoyable Spring skiing conditions are currently on offer in the Alps with lots of sunshine and rising temperatures. The best skiing is on the highest pistes where the snow remains fresh and dry but all the high altitude resorts that are popular through April are offering good skiing at all elevations and most uplift is still operating.

There are excellent skiing conditions in the Alps this Easter with fresh snow conditions and temperatures below the norm. All the leading resorts are open and offering more or less all pistes and all uplift. Weekend weather was often wintry and visibility poor but the week ahead looks brighter so prospects for good skiing are excellent.

Last updated: Sat 04th Apr, 2015 at 16:33

Snow has been falling right across the Alps this Easter weekend and all the leading resorts have good snow conditions now at all elevations. Visibility has been poor and this has limited the enjoyment of the fresh snow but the forecast indicates brighter periods will soon develop and this means skiers can look forward to some great Easter skiing in the next few days.

Last updated: Fri 03rd Apr, 2015 at 11:30

There are excellent skiing conditions in the Alps for Easter with all the leading resorts reporting fresh snow cover and almost all pistes and lifts open. Temperatures are lower than the norm for this stage of the season with the freezing level around 2000m and through the Easter weekend further snowfall can be expected right across the Alps.

Last updated: Thu 02nd Apr, 2015 at 12:30

There is going to be some great skiing over Easter with deep fresh dry snow conditions to be found on the high slopes of the high resorts of the northern Alps. On the southern side of the Alps conditions have been much more Spring-like recently, a big contrast to the wild weather to the north.

Last updated: Wed 01st Apr, 2015 at 16:50

Fresh snow continues to fall in many of the ski resorts located on the northern side of the Alps. The heaviest snow recently has been in Austria where high winds closed ski lifts on exposed slopes. On the southern side of the Alps conditions are calmer and more Spring like and these very mixed alpine conditions look set to continue through Easter.

Last updated: Tue 31st Mar, 2015 at 13:53

The high pistes of the high altitude resorts of the northern Alps have fresh snow cover and when the visibility is good the skiing is excellent. On the lower slopes of these same resorts the snow is wet. On the southern side of the Alps the weather is brighter and drier with conditions feeling very much like Spring.

Last updated: Mon 30th Mar, 2015 at 14:59

Fresh snowfall has been affecting the high slopes of the leading alpine resorts with the heaviest snow reported from the highest pistes of the northern Alps. On lower slopes the snow tends to be wet now due to rainfall or sleet and so skiers are finding the best snow conditions are above mid mountain elevation. Further snowfall, combined with brighter periods, is expected over the next few days.

Last updated: Sun 29th Mar, 2015 at 16:30

All the leading resorts of the Alps are open and many of them are reporting fresh snow cover on upper slopes. Further snowfall - again falling just on the higher elevations due to the freezing level being well above the resorts - is in the forecast and so skiers can look forward to very good conditions over the Easter period.

Last updated: Sat 28th Mar, 2015 at 15:39

There are good skiing conditions in the leading resorts of the Alps and fresh snow is in the forecast for most of the Austrian, French, Italian and Swiss ski domains. Prospects for the Easter period look very promising as snow depths are good at all elevations, especially in the higher resorts where skiers tend to head to at this stage of the season.

Last updated: Fri 27th Mar, 2015 at 13:07

The Alps have fresh snow cover on upper slopes and this weekend this is where the best skiing will be on offer. The alpine forecast indicates periods of sunshine will be followed by further high level snowfall on Sunday. All leading resorts continue to offer almost all uplift and all pistes and prospects for skiers over Easter look good.

Last updated: Thu 26th Mar, 2015 at 11:42

The upper slopes of almost all the leading alpine resorts have fresh snow cover now and there is good skiing on offer. On lower slopes the snow cover is often wet but still the depth is good and so all resort access runs remain complete. The forecast indicates more high level snowfall but also periods of sunshine through the weekend, so all good news for skiers in the Alps right now.

Last updated: Wed 25th Mar, 2015 at 13:23

Rather cloudy skies in the Alps this week with fresh snowfall also often being reported from the high pistes across Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland. All the leading resorts are open and still offering more or less all ski lifts and pistes and once the visibility improves the skiing on offer will be excellent.

Last updated: Tue 24th Mar, 2015 at 12:46

All the leading resorts of the Alps are offering good skiing conditions and many report fresh snow cover on upper slopes. Overhead the weather conditions have been variable lately but still extended sunny spells can be expected this week, plus further falls of fresh snow. So the situation for skiers still very positive right across the Alps.

Last updated: Mon 23rd Mar, 2015 at 12:35

There is some very good skiing in the Alps again as the sunshine has retuned and high slopes often hold fresh snow cover. All the leading resorts are holding healthy amounts of snow cover for this stage of the season and the forecast indicates further fresh snow will arrive later this week. So prospects for skiers continue to look good.

Last updated: Sun 22nd Mar, 2015 at 16:19

There has been fresh snow reported by many of the leading resorts in the Alps but really only on their highest pistes as lower slopes have seen rainfall. So the best skiing on offer this week will be located in the highest alpine resorts as this is where the fresh snow is most dry and good to ski.

Last updated: Sat 21st Mar, 2015 at 16:28

The Alps have lost the sunshine now and much duller and wetter conditions are moving over the mountains of Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland. On the high slopes fresh snow is falling but lower down rain has also been reported. So not very pleasant for skiing right now. The snow depths however remain decent and so skiers will be looking forward to some brighter spells of weather in the forecast.

Last updated: Fri 20th Mar, 2015 at 15:22

After several days of Spring sunshine fresh snow is now expected to fall in many resorts across the Alps this weekend. All the leading resorts are still operating more or less all ski lifts and pistes are open at all elevations. With the fresh snowfall conditions will be further improved everywhere with high pistes likely to be offering excellent skiing.

Last updated: Thu 19th Mar, 2015 at 12:41

It feels like Spring in many parts of the Alps now with sunshine skiing on offer. The freezing level is lying well above resort elevation through the day and this means snow quality is best on the highest pistes. However the forecast indicates this weekend fresh snow will fall and temperatures will be cooler.

Last updated: Wed 18th Mar, 2015 at 16:39

The leading ski resorts of the Alps are still reporting very good skiing conditions despite milder Spring temperatures now having an effect on the quality of the snow on lower pistes. Above mid mountain elevation the snow is still in great shape and this is where the best skiing is now found. This weekend fresh snowfall is expected.

Last updated: Tue 17th Mar, 2015 at 15:35

There is good skiing on offer right across the Alps currently with the most recent fresh snowfalls to be found in the western Italian Alps. The forecast indicates mostly settled weather for the next few days with periods of sunshine possible. The freezing level will rise above resort elevations so the best snow conditions will be found on higher pistes.

Last updated: Mon 16th Mar, 2015 at 17:01

Many resorts in the western Alps continue to report fresh snowfall but the east remains mostly dry. Ski conditions everywhere though remain mostly good with snow depths still respectable on lower and upper pistes. The forecast indicates further light snowfall will continue to move over the Alps this week so prospects for skiers remain excellent.

Last updated: Sun 15th Mar, 2015 at 16:43

There have been further light falls of fresh snow in the western Alps and more snow is expected to fall over the next couple of days. Skiing conditions are very good in all the leading resorts with snow depths very respectable at all elevations. The best skiing tends to be found above mid mountain where the snow is the most fresh and dry.

Last updated: Sat 14th Mar, 2015 at 16:57

Fresh snowfall has been reported from the French and Swiss Alps and more to come in the next few days. Snow conditions are already good in all the leading alpine resorts and at all elevations and so the arrival of fresh snowfall will further enhance snow and ski conditions.
