The freezing level is about to rise further with 3500 to 4000m the norm across the Alps. This means the best skiing will be on the glacier slopes of the highest alpine resorts of Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland.

The highest pistes of the Alps and the glacier slopes of the leading late season resorts are offering excellent spring skiing this week and when the sun shines the conditions could scarcely be better for this late stage of the season with massive consolidate snow base depths still being reported.

Spring snow and mixed overhead conditions can be expected as we head into the middle weekend of April but there is still great skiing to be had, when visibility is decent. Recent heavy snow is very unstable so do take heed of local avalanche warnings and stay on marked pistes until the risk reduces through this weekend.

High pistes in the Alps still offer superb skiing conditions when the sun shines but this week cloud with rain, sleet and snow is sweeping west to east over the Alps. Skiers will find the best sport when visibility allows them to ski high otherwise they can expect to be skiing heavier spring snow conditions on lower slopes.

Weather conditions are becoming less settled in the Alps and in the western resorts of Italy, plus France and Switzerland there will be an increasing chance of showers of rain, sleet or snow. Of course what falls from the sky will be dictated by altitude but with the freezing level at around 2500m the best skiing conditions will be found on the very highest alpine pistes.

Really wonderful spring skiing conditions in the Alps this weekend and with the freezing level now rising to around 2500m the snow on lower slopes is becoming heavy through the afternoon, however high pistes are holding massive snow depths and surface conditions are firm and great to ski.

Fine overhead conditions are expected through Friday across the Alps and skiers will have an opportunity to head high for the deep fresh snowfall that has accumulated in recent days. The freezing level is rising now and lower slopes conditions will soon become heavy but all runs remains complete in the premier alpine resorts.

Temperatures are about to rise further in the Alps and through this weekend the freezing level high will be around 2000 to 2500m and this means lower slopes will see snow become wet. However with massive snow depths, all runs will still be complete back to resort level and skiers will find superb conditions on upper slopes in all the leading resorts.

Overhead conditions have been mixed in the Alps and that will continue through midweek before skies clear to sunshine this weekend. Through Wednesday snow and sleet showers can be expected, dependent on elevation, with the freezing level high typically around the 2000m. On high pistes skiers are finding excellent sport in all the leading alpine resorts, but only when visibility is decent.

There were wonderful conditions for skiers in the leading winter resorts of Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland on Easter Monday with an equal abundance of snow and sunshine in many resorts. The next few days look more unsettled with variable visibility die to periods of snow or sleet, plus occasional sunny spells.

After fresh snowfall on upper slopes right across the Alps through the weekend conditions are set up perfectly for Easter Monday with skies clearing and extended periods of sunshine expected. With the freezing level rising to over 2000m this week higher pistes will offer the best snow and skiing conditions.

Through Saturday snowfall, and at lower elevations sleet or rain, moved across the Alps but Easter Sunday and Monday will be much brighter and drier and there is great skiing in prospect on the upper slopes of all the leading alpine resorts of Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland.

Easter weekend in the Alps will see fresh snowfall in many of the leading resorts of Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland but with the freezing level rising lower slopes my see sleet or rain. The best skiing will be on higher slopes but only once the weather clears and through Sunday brighter conditions and better visibility can be expected.

Fresh snow is falling right across the Alps through Thursday and more is expected through Friday but with the freezing level close to 2000m the snow condition on lower slopes is mostly wet with rain or sleet is falling at resort elevation. On high slopes though the snow is dry and great Easter skiing is in prospect once skiers clear.

Temperatures are on the rise in the Alps now and the freezing level will climb to 2000m through Thursday. The leading resorts of Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland hold fantastic volumes of snow at all elevations but with rain, sleet and snow in the forecast it is the higher pistes that will be offering the best skiing through Easter.

Many resorts across Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland are reporting fresh snowfall on upper slopes, whilst some low elevation resorts in Austria have experienced rain. Generally though the premier resorts are in great shape and once overhead conditions become clear there will be excellent skiing on offer.

There are wonderful ski conditions in the Alps this week with snow depths substantial at all elevations in the leading resorts of Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland. Occasional snow showers have been reported across the region and more significant snow is expected through the second half of this week so piste surface conditions will continue to exceed expectations for this stage of the season.

There are wonderful skiing conditions in the Alps with snow depth and quality quite exceptional for this late stage of the season. This week will start bright but then by midweek fresh snows will sweep over the region and this will likely set up all resorts perfectly for Easter.

Temperatures remain unseasonably low in the Alps with dry groomed snow on pistes of all elevations. Snow depths are also exceptional for this stage of the season and so when overhead conditions are good skiers are enjoying fine winter sport in all the premier alpine resorts.

Midweek ski conditions in the premier resorts of Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland will be bright with excellent fresh and dry snow conditions on piste at all elevations. Temperatures typically remain below resort level through the day and this is preserving fine snow conditions on even the lowest of resort access runs.
